Meg Linton, Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Linton has over 20 years of leading and stewarding cultural institutions, non-profits, and academic arts programs. Her former positions include Director of Galleries and Exhibitions for the Ben Maltz Gallery at the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, Executive Director of the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum (now the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara), and Executive Director of the Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico; Curator of Exhibitions at the University Art Museum, CSU Long Beach. Having grown up in Newport Beach, Ms. Linton fondly recalls her childhood memories visiting the Newport Beach Public Library and also the librarians who became her friends while earning her Bachelor’s degree in English at the University of California, Irvine.  She completed a Master of Fine Arts degree at California State University, Fullerton. In addition, she obtained a Certificate in Museum Leadership from The Getty Leadership Institute in Los Angeles. Click here for a recent Coast Magazine highlight.

Kunga Wangmo Upshaw, Director of Programs

Ms. Wangmo graduated from William Smith College in Geneva, New York with a degree in Chemistry and French and Francophone Studies. She is born and raised in northeast of India, in a small town called Gangtok, Sikkim. Her parents are Tibetan and they are semi-retired and happily living in India. Kunga Wangmo worked at World Affairs Council of Orange County, a non-profit as an Operations Manager for two and a half years. The first thing, Kunga did when she went to college was to get a job at the college library and worked there until she graduated.

Shawn Romero, Executive Assistant

Ms. Romero joined the Foundation team in 2013 and is an experienced administrator. She plays a vital role in keeping all the behind-the-scenes operations running smoothly.
