Planning
a donation to the library’s Foundation
is more than just a charitable gift, in many
cases it can be structured in ways that may
increase your tax benefits. As a tax-exempt
organization incorporated under the laws of
the United States, all contributions made to
the library Foundation are tax deductible. Your
planned charitable donation can help to secure
a bright future for many future generations
of library users as well as help you meet your
own personal objectives.
The Epilogue Society
We are pleased to formally announce The Epilogue Society which honors those who have remembered the Newport Beach Library Foundation in their estate plans. The Foundation thanks these individuals for notifying us of their intentions and for helping to ensure that the Newport Beach Public Library will continue to serve our community for generations to come. If you have included us in your estate plans, please let us know so we can welcome you to The Epilogue Society. If you would like to discuss it further or find out about Charitable Remainder Trusts, bequests and other types of planned giving, please call Tracy Keys at 949.717.3890.

A Variety of Options
The Newport Beach Public Library Foundation
accepts your contributions in a variety of forms
including cash, securities, real estate, personal
property, life insurance, bequests, trusts or
annuities. It is best to speak with your attorney
or tax advisor first to find out the most beneficial
means of contributing to your community through
the Foundation. You may be able to realize substantial
tax savings for yourself, your family and future
heirs.
Wills and Living Trusts
One of the easiest ways you can contribute a
planned gift to the library is by leaving a
portion of your estate to the Foundation or
by naming it in your will or trust. You can
substantially reduce the amount of your estate
tax by specifying a percentage of your estate,
donating a block of stock or simply contributing
a fixed sum of money.
Planned gifts
You can take the tax advantage of outright donations
throughout the year or schedule a one-time contribution
to the Foundation or one of its programs. Talk
with your tax advisor to find out how what type
of donation is best for you.
Retirement Plan Contributions
You can contribute a portion of your assets
from your 401(k) or other qualified retirement
fund to support the library and those special
programs close to your heart. You can plan to
give a fixed sum during your lifetime or bequest
it as part of your will.
Endowments
An endowment named in honor of an individual
or a family can be established for a minimum
gift of $5,000. You can designate the endowment
to support a particular area of the library’s
collections, indicate specific services or program
to be supported, or choose to supplement areas
of the library where the need is the greatest.
