Library Live was founded by the Library Foundation in 1995 to provide a unique forum for outstanding authors to appear at the Newport Beach Public Library where the audience has an opportunity to hear from the author, engage in dialogue and purchase books to be signed. Library Live also encompasses speakers-in-conversation (playwrights, artists, film directors), writing workshops and other cultural programs. The fees charged for programs (or not) vary according to budget and the circumstances that allow us to feature the speakers.

The Martin W. Witte Distinguished Speakers Lecture Series is distinct in that the series was founded and is sustained with generous contributions from The Witte Family, as well as other gracious sponsors.
